After waiting for what seems to be a lifetime, you finally have found the right man, and he has asked you to marry him. Now that you will soon become a wife to the man of your dreams, you won’t let anything ruin that big day, and you know how time-consuming the planning will be going forward.

What are the essentials you have to consider in planning for the big day? To help you remember every vital detail to make the event successful, happy, and unforgettable, here are critical elements as a reminder that you should not take for granted.
The Date: You may have your preference, like your birthday or anniversary, but you have to check the venue and the church availability for sed date. Regardless of a traditional church wedding or a wedding in a mysterious location, you have to visit both vendors to see the layout, location, amenities, cost, availability, services they offer, meet and ask all the right questions, and to do a general walk-through of the site. During your consultation, you must keep an open mind and ask questions to get a feel for the people operating the business; remember, you have to trust these individuals to produce your Wedding.
Guest List: Before heading to the print shop to have the invitations done, you should create a list of to indicate how many invitations to print. Failure to complete a guest list will result in wasted time going back and forth to the printing shop, not to mention forgetting key guests.
Budget: Proceed no further until you have a conversation with your partner and parents or those helping in the financing of the event. During my time as a wedding planner, the budget is one of the areas that will put a damper on the planning process. Let me remind you, your wedding budget will take as much or as little as budgeted towards it. It’s essential to assign a dollar amount to each element on the budget.
Venue: After you are sure about the budget, you can choose a wedding venue for the ceremony, reception, and invitation based on the dollar amount allocated on the budget. A tip to keep you on the budget is the host both the ceremony and reception at the exact location.
The word is out: After you have everything on paper and are sure about the plans, it’s time to order your invitation or be mailing out save the date cards. Save the date cards are mailed out 6-12 months before the wedding date, informal wedding ten days to three weeks, and formal wedding four to six weeks according to Emily Post on Weddings (Elizabeth L. Post)
